Steve Holland has made a return to management one month after leaving his England role.

The former Chelsea assistant was part of Gareth Southgate and Lee Carsley's coaching teams during eight years with the Three Lions.

However, he left the position following the end of Carsley's interim tenure.

Instead, Holland has now landed his first senior managerial role ꦰsince 2008.

His only previoꩵus exp🌸erience leading a first-team squad came over the course of a 16-month stint at Crewe.

Holland has been๊ confirmed as ღthe new manager of Japanese side Yokohama F. Marinos.

The J.League club are part of the City Football Group and were🎉 previously managed by Ange P🅠ostecoglou.

Marinos finished ninth in the J.League this ye൲ar under another Au꧙stralian coach John Hutchinson.

Speaking after hisꦓ appointment, Holland told the club website: "I am excited to come to Japan, a wonderful coun꧑try and honoured to have the opportunity to work in J.League, the best league in Asia.

"It is a privilege to lead Yokohama F. Marinos as manager, in a stadium where the enthusiasm and passion of the supporters create a fantasti💛c atmosphere.

"Yokohama F. Marinos is a prestigious club that has been a part of the J.League since its establishment in 1993 and has won five league championships to date. I've also heard that Yokohama F. Marinos receives great support from supporters, both at home and away matches.

"Our mission is to compete for titles again, and we will pursue playing an aggressive 'Attacking Football'. I aim to build a team that consistently competes at the highest level, defined by strong competitiveness and unity.

Holland will be hoping to emulate Postecoglou's success in Yokohama between 2018 and 2021.

The Totten꧅ham boss won 80 of his 🦂161 matches in charge along with a league title in 2019.

His first match as manager is currentlꦏy scheduled for two months time on February 12.

Marinos continue their AFC Champions League campaign at home to Shanghai Shenhua.
